Review on  Hydroelectric projects…

The ongoing progress of Hydroelectric projects in the Himalayan kingdom has been reviewed by India and Bhutan on Friday this afternoon as Prime minister of India Narendra Modi and King of Bhutan Lotay Tshering. Development of Hydroelectric projects is an important part to  India’s aid to Bhutan , Modi said in a Media conference with Lotay Tshering.  we reviewed our aid for all related projects in this important sector, said modi.

India has set up 3 Hydroelectric projects in Bhutan with a total capacity of 1416 MW in which 3/4th of the power is exported to India and the rest for domestic use. As all known that there is a number of  institutional mechanisms between India and Bhutan in the  areas of security, border management, trade, economy, hydroelectricity, development cooperation and water resources.

The  space science is a new area of cooperation between the two nations, Modi said that a ground station will be soon developed in Bhutan by ISRO for  the benefits of the South Asian Satellite. He also expressed feel of happy over the introduction of Rupay cards which will be launching soon by Bhutan said by Tshering.

Tshering arrived today on a 3 day visit to India the first official trip after assuming charges in October. After the meeting he invited Modi to visit Bhutan at the earliest. Bhutan the country of 8 lakh people located between India and China has chosen a different party to rule at each election since the end of absolute monarchy in 2008.
